The Autumn Series of Lectures

1st May 2023

The Programme for the Autumn (September to December) series of lectures is
now published

We have for your enjoyment four "Live at The Guildhall" lectures and they
cover St Chad at Lichfield Cathedral in the seventh century by Dr David
Lepine, Dr Mark Knight will be telling us about Transforming the Trent Valley
and the Neolithic discoveries at Catholme, Dr Imogen Peck will take us through
the Aftermath of the Civil War in Staffordshire and the final "live" lecture will
be where Teresa Gilmore will bring the Society up to date with all the
discoveries made under the Portable Antiquities Scheme.

In addition there two ZOOM lectures where Dr Kate Round will present a
history of Stourbridge Glass from the 8th century BC to the current day and
secondly Dr Gillian White who has presented lectures in previous years both by
Zoom and at The Guildhall. This time she will talk about Bess of Hardwick.

Now I hear you ask what about the Spring 2024 series of lectures. Well - I
have the dates and there are four "Live at The Guildhall" with four ZOOM
lectures intermixed. But at the present it is a blank sheet of paper - just a list
of dates!

If there are any topics or particular speakers out there that you would like to
see included in the programme then let me know and we will see what I can
do, although I have a good number of possibilities in my speakers file.
