Please expect your copy to arrive in the post over the course of the next 2/3 weeks. Despatch begins tomorrow 1st June and, by the nature of things, it will take place gradually. Included in the Volume is a major article on the excavation of a Roman villa at Acton Trussell, Staffordshire, which took place over a period of more than 30 years. Elsewhere in the issue is a paper on analysis of Stafford wills, 1500-1760, and also a report on evaluation and excavation of two 19th-20th century pottery ovens in the town of Stoke-upon-Trent. And a selection of further archaeological updates from around the County (historical boundaries). There is also a book review of a significant recent publication Floreat Salopia, a fine celebratory work from our neighbouring county society Shropshire Archaeological & Historical Society.
An introductory summary of the contents was included in the recent SA&HS Newsletter Issue No. 152 for May 2026, pages 8-9. Additionally, Volume LVII is now available to read on the SA&HS website, via the Member Area as a downloadable pdf, password access controlled.
