SA&HS Zoom Lecture Friday 24th April - ** CANCELLATION **

23rd April 2026

There was a lecture scheduled for tomorrow evening Friday 24th April, to be delivered remotely via the means of Zoom.

Unfortunately the speaker Dr Jacob Fredrickson is unwell and is not able to deliver his presentation to us.  Please therefore note that the talk is not going ahead, though we hope to arrange for Jacob to speak to us on another occasion in the future, again to be via Zoom, his subject being: 'Whose Utopia?' Belonging, Community and Property-Owning Democracy in Bournville, Birmingham 1950-1970.  This was expected to be a fascinating topic, which though we will get to hear about in due course hopefully.  The Cadbury family creation of 'Utopia' at Bournville Village and the difficulties encountered in the post-war decades.

With apologies, though it cannot be helped, a matter beyond our control.  We wish Jacob a speedy recovery.
