CBA West Midlands Archaeology - Call for Contributions

1st July 2020

This is a round robin calling for everyone’ s summary reports for West Midlands Archaeology. For WMA we define the West Midlands region as: Herefordshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire, Warwickshire, West Midlands and Worcestershire.  Accompanying illustrations or photographs would be very welcome (please send these digitally by disk or email – see notes for contributors for formats accepted).  Please also remember to include grid references for all site summaries as well as relevant HER reference numbers.  It would also be really helpful if you could collate your entries by county, especially as this year, again, the counties will be divided between a number of sub-editors.

Please could we have your submissions by 31st July 2020 for inclusion in Volume 62.   Notes for contributors and a previous volume sample are attached as guidance.  Your copy should be sent to cbawestmidlands@archaeologyuk.org and cc’d to myself via aislingnash@gmail.com.

As always we are interested in including as broad as possible spectrum of ‘archaeological work’ reflecting the diverse and varied activities undertaken in the heritage sector across the region. Summaries can include commercial work carried out by contracting units as well as field or survey work undertaken by archaeological societies and local groups. However, it can also include any events or exhibitions that have taken place, e.g.: Young Archaeologist Club news, community projects and museum events, etc. so that the journal contains a variety of articles, in particular for inclusion within the Forum.

We'd also be grateful if all HER Officers and curatorial archaeologists could check that this email is reaching all contractors and local societies within their area, and if not, please do forward it on.  Our distribution list (based on WMA directory) may not be entirely exhaustive and we are always happy to receive updates!

Thanks very much for your anticipated support and look forward to hearing from you soon.

All best wishes

Aisling Nash
