'Hidden Gems' a Tour of Roman Wall Settlement

29th March 2026

The Friends of Letocetum (FoL) have arranged an event:

'Hidden Gems' a Tour of Roman Wall Settlement - a guided walk around Wall village, near Lichfield, taking place on Sunday 12th April between 2.00 pm and 4.15 pm.  Acknowledged expert Dr Mike Hodder will lead a group around the modern day settlement to demonstrate how historians and archaeologists have proven the importance of Letocetum.  Mike will describe what happened in the area before, during and after the Roman conquest; and what can be seen today.

Attendees should meet at 2.00 pm in the village car park (just down the road from Wall Village Hall - WS14 0AW) which is free.  Advance booking is required (essential) and the cost is £10 per head including refreshments.  Go to the just recently revised FoL website, regarding booking arrangements, and also there's a link appended below to further upcoming events.  NB FoL are welcoming suggestions for blogs, new content and features for the website.
