A message from the Nicholson Museum and Art Gallery

15th November 2020

My name is Laura Summers and I am working on behalf of Staffordshire Moorlands District Council and the Nicholson Museum and Art Gallery.

This year, the Nicholson Museum &Art Gallery celebrates its ten-year anniversary. During this time, the museum and art gallery has exhibited and become recognised regionally and nationally as a valued exhibition space and an important feature in Leek.

The museum is now looking to develop and take its arts and culture programme into the wider community and to achieve this we are asking those considered valued stakeholders to take part in a short survey, found in the link below.

https://www.smartsurvey.co.uk/s/NicholsonStakeholderSurvey/

The aim of this survey will be to establish how our stakeholders currently engage with our service, what they would like to see from the service in the future and how they might like to be involved. For instance, we might look to establish a ‘Forward Planning Group.’

As you may be aware, the museum and art gallery are situated on the top floor of the Nicholson Institute and are currently used as an exhibition space for the museum collection, exhibitions by contemporary artists and photographers, Open Art and other community led exhibitions alongside arts and crafts events attracting visitors from far and wide. However, as we move forward in recognising the importance of art and culture within the community, we hope to reach out and be guided by local need and, in doing so, work together to create a museum and art gallery as the primary venue for arts and culture but with outreach projects within the wider Staffordshire Moorlands area.

With this in mind, we would greatly value your support in helping to develop a forward plan making the Nicholson Museum & Art Gallery fit for the 21st century by completing the survey online.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me by return email (laura.summers@focus-consultants.com) or on 0115 976 5050

Yours Sincerely,

Laura
